The Oh YO is a simple open work pattern consisting of knit stiches and yarn overs (YO) 

This makes it an ideal project for beginner knitters and those very new to lace or working with YO’s. Easy to remember, the Oh YO knits up fast and is ideal for practicing continental knitting.

This pattern adapts easily to a rectangular shawl, however is written with a wider belly than the edges for better shoulder and back coverage.
 
Gauge is not important and this shawl can be easily made larger or smaller by adding/subtracting stitches.
