Curious about support spindles?
Join Jessical for a relaxed, hands-on demo and workshop where you’ll learn the basics and get a feel for this beautiful spinning technique.
Unlike drop spindles, support spindles spin on a surface—many find them gentler on the body and easier to manage.
You will see how to start a leader, flick the spindle, and try out drafting styles like park-and-draft and unsupported long draw.
Sound like jiberish? No problem! Beginners are absolutely welcome. Bring your own spindle if you have one—or try a few different styles from Jessica’s collection. Fibre will be provided. If you have a small bowl or dish to spin in, bring it along.
Come ready to play, practice, and ask questions. This is a hands-on experience and class sizes are kept small to make sure everyone gets support.
