About the Event
Have you ever admired a beautifully cabled knit and thought, “I could never do that”? This class is here to change that. In Untangling Cables, Steve will walk you through the fundamentals of knitting cables—what they are, how to create them (with or without a cable needle), and how to read cable charts so you can knit from patterns with confidence.
You'll explore the difference between cables and braids, and if time allows, you'll even dip your needles into more complex (but approachable!) cable techniques. Whether you’re brand new to cables or looking to deepen your understanding, this class will leave you feeling empowered and inspired.
Skill level: Advanced beginner and up
Materials: Please bring a yarn weight you are comfortable knitting with and appropriately sized needles. A cable needle or DPN if you have one. Please prepare a swatch with about 30 stitches and approx 8-10 rows already knit.
