More than just for the planet, mending an item can tell a story of you, share a memory of a happy past, tell the tale of the garment or an adventure lived beautifully.Â
It's a bold statement.Â
You, my friend, will not conform to the ideal of buying new and letting go of this fondness.Â
Join Ponnie in this 3 hour class where she will share with you her knowledge on mending knitwear.Â
A practice swatch will be provided but please bring any knits you wish to preserve. You can brainstorm ideas for how you will mend it.Â
We encourage you to bring matching gauge yarn to your items as well as your mending tools (needles, crochet hooks, pins) as it helps you figure out what will work best for you with what you have.
This class is close to lunch time so please feel free to bring a mug for tea and something to eat if you should so desire. We will be in an indoor space that is often occupied by babies and therefore ask that you please bring clean indoor shoes, slippers or socks that maybe you want to mend ?!? :)
