Fibre Arts Summer Camp Afternoons July 7–11 | 12:30 - 3:30 PM | Ages 7 and up *** *** Most kids are developmentally ready to learn such crafts as knitting between 7 and 9 years old Join us for a week of creative exploration at our Fibre Arts Summer Camp! Each half-day session gives kids the opportunity to discover the joy of working with fibre through a variety of crafts such as knitting, crochet, machine knitting, felting, weaving, needle punch, or sewing. (Each camp will feature a selection, but not all, of these activities.) Projects are designed to be taken home and treasured, and all materials are included. We’ll also take time to step outside—using the garden as inspiration and enjoying some movement and fresh air. On nice days, we may even bring our art outside! With small group sizes and a supportive environment, campers will feel encouraged to explore, create, and have fun. Choose your session: Morning: 9–12pm or Afternoon: 12:30–3:30pm Spaces are limited — register now to secure your spot! Min 4 kids to run the camp, Max 8 About the Instructor – Ponnie Ponnie is a passionate fibre artist, educator, and parent who brings a warm, playful energy to everything she does. With years of experience teaching knitting, crochet, machine knitting, and more, Ponnie loves helping kids discover the magic of making with their hands. She has a background in costume and prop work for film and TV, and she runs Ponnie Matin Studios—a creative hub that blends fibre arts, movement, and community connection. Ponnie believes in nurturing creativity through curiosity, kindness, and fun, and she’s especially skilled at meeting kids where they’re at to spark joy and confidence in the making process. When she’s not crafting, you’ll likely find her in the garden with her two kids, dreaming up the next project or dance party. Accessibility is important to us — we offer sliding scale options so every child has the chance to participate.
